Road Map

Sometimes there are features which cannot be implemented as quickly as we'd like. This page will serve as a rough list of those things along with the version that those features are being targeted for.

• release with httpclient 3.0 final

• address every bug in the tracker at least once
• remove httpclient pooling
• improve the threading model to more closely match existing browsers
• remove HTML specific references from WebClient--only the PageCreator and anything "below" it should need to know anything specific about HTML

• make WebWindows completely responsible for their own children

  • remove/refactor HtmlPage.cleanUp/deregisterFramesIfNeeded
• make HTML parser instanced instead of static
• mass-removal of public methods marked as internal API (especially in WebClient)
• greatly reduce the number of fields in WebClient
• explore the possibility of a WebClientFactory with some associated helper factories to limit the number of conditionals we are adding to emulate different browsers
